"Leamington is paradise to us. My husband was born in Windsor but he left years ago. We married April 22, 2000 and that year we moved here. I agree it was very lonely at first but the people were warm and friendly and we could actually buy a house here and actually pay off your mortgage. IT IS A GREAT LIFE AND I WOULD NOT MOVE TO ANOTHER BIG CITY AGAIN.
Both my husband & I have jobs in this area and we can retire next year. It is truly wonderful. " -- Deborah J

"Windsor has the right attitude! The spirit of friendliness, courage, and determination is the envy of many who have witnessed our tenacity. If we take the time to discover our neighbours, invest in our communities, recognize our resources, support our fellow citizens and take the initiative to contribute in some small way to making a difference, we can all can stand up and take a bow for making good things happen rather than watching … things happen!

"Travelling to several different parts of the continent and the world has made me very proud to be from the Windsor-Essex region. Whenever I return home, it's a sigh of relief to just bike along our beautiful downtown riverfront and admire the sheer vastness of the Detroit River. No other place in the world that I've seen has been able to touch me in such a way with something so simple. " -- Ryan Solcz

"I've lived in western and eastern Canada, as well as other parts of Ontario, but can tell you that W.E. is a great place to live and raise a family. We've got easy access to the lakes, are right across from a major metropolitan area with all its amenities, have some of the finest and highest variety of restaurants for a city our size, the weather is better than most other parts of the country, and the people are friendly. I'm not sure you can beat our combination of good qualities, as fDi said!" -- Dr. Craig Fleisher

"Having moved to Calgary from Windsor about 3 years ago I see how different the two cities are. In Windsor Essex we take a lot of things for granted like our safe community and great cost of living not to mention we are surrounded by beautiful lakes and the convenience of our American neighbours accross the river giving us great opportunities and fantastic shopping! What a great city and we will overcome our hardships and once again be the talk of the country. I am proud to be a Windsorite!" -- Jackie Sheriff

"The Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Mexico, Poland, Indonesia are the places I had a chance to live in during the last several years, not to mention visiting 20+ countries. There is a lot in Windsor one doesn't realize until they leave. From living in large cosmopolitan cities to managing a resort in the rainforest to waking up to sunsets and ocean breezes at the foot of my door...there is something that Windsor has that made me come back and open a business this year.
